Grapeseed Extract

Grapeseed extract is derived from the ground-up seeds of red grapes in which a wealth of nutrients are being discovered by scientists. The latest findings demonstrate that full-spectrum grapeseed extract can help support cardiovascular health by maintaining youthful endothelial function, regulating the clumping together of platelets in the blood, and reducing inflammation.

Endothelial cells (the cells which line the blood vessels) are vital for the maintenance of smooth arterial walls and muscle tone, thereby controlling blood pressure and the tendency for platelet aggregation and plaque build-up.  There is increasing evidence that by reducing lipid peroxidation – induced damage to endothelial cells (the process in which free radicals “steal” electrons from the lipids in cell membranes, resulting in damage to the cell), vascular health is maintained.  One of the mechanisms at work here is the production of vital signaling molecules nitric oxide and endothelin-1, both of which benefit from the antioxidants in grapeseed extract.
