Collagen Hydrolysate

Skin is comprised of collagen. As we get older, our skin begins to get thinner, drier and less resilient and pliable due to the decrease in collagen production.   This deterioration is directly linked to  the reduction in the amino acid content in the skin’s structure, such as glycine, proline, hydroxyproline and alanine, as well as a bad diet.  The result is wrinkles and sagging skin.

The amino acid content of hydrolysed collagen is the same as that of collagen, and the subsequent results from third party clinical studies have clearly demonstrated significant skin improvement when taken daily.

Hydrolysed collagen is produced from the same collagen found in human bones and skin, using a hydrolysis process.  It is a natural product containing more than 97% protein, 18 amino acids including 8 out of 9 essential amino acids, and is characterized by the predominance of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline which represents about 50% of the total amino acid content.

Hydrolysed collagen supplements ingested orally increases serum levels of some dipeptides and tripeptides, of which one of them, proline-hydroxyproline (Pro-Hyp), can stimulate fibroblasts to produce the molecule known as hyaluronic acid (200µM) which is in and of itself a skin health supplement.
